Our
challenge in this 7,680 sq. ft. home was to create authentic Moroccan interior details.
We began in the foyer where three niches were created using pierced wood
shaped into Moorish arches. Antiqued terra-cotta tiles set the theme installed
in a sea of limestone. Embossed leather hand carved chairs flanked one archway
as an antique desk separates the other two. The pierced grill work is also
suspended from the ceiling and subtly lit.
A custom limestone mantle is the focal point of the living room flanked
by two mahogany chests with ivory inlay. The high back carved sofa invites
you to enter the room filled with unusual pieces from all over the world.
A handmade sculptural iron cocktail table, rolling slipper chairs and Indian
chests all sit upon a mango colored silk and wool rug from India. The rich
colors of mango, honeydew, cream and persimmon in different depths create
an environment of warmth and interest. A twenty five foot ceiling was designed
in a quatrefoil shape and detailed in intricate wood moldings. The art above
the fireplace is a metal piece by David Langley, Residuals of Rituals, and
Mixed Media on aluminum. A view of the bar hints at the Moroccan panels that
create a transition into the family room area. This area was detailed with
woven leather Klismos chairs and opalescent fixtures.
The breakfast room is capped by a dome from which a mosaic glass fixture
is suspended. Six high back chairs of embossed leather and chenille surround
a table that reverses from planked dining to poker.
The family room ceiling was designed with wide mahogany beams set into
a Moorish shaped coffer. The eclectic mix of furnishings in the deep rich
hues creates continuity of the Moroccan feeling.
A copper embossed and beamed ceiling caps the dining room. A dome fixture
of Arabesque patterned wood is suspended from one beam. Striped silk drapes
of persimmon and mustard frame the wooded view beyond. Pierced filigree details
hide a door leading to the cherry wood wine room and butler’s pantry
beyond.
Tapestries and silks cover the chairs that surround the immense dining
table of inlayed woods made in Tuscany. The floral painting by Luis Sanchez, “If
These Walls Could Talk”, acrylic on canvas, is hung opposite the wine
room. A Moroccan server sits beneath the arched window revealing the extensive
wine collection.
The master bedroom suite is a complete contrast to the colorful main area.
Exotic furnishings such as the turned poster bed and inlayed armoire in a
background of sinewy white fabrics. Embroided sheer drapes, beaded silk bedding
and pillows all rest on walls of white on white lace.

Our involvement in this 8,240 square foot residence began with all interior details and millwork, selections of surfaces, and lighting design. The mahogany columns with beveled reveals were designed to segregate the living room from the voluminous foyer. Subtle details such as the grey honed limestone floor with polished borders, a custom limestone mantelpiece and all millwork details throughout set this home apart from the norm. Unusual designs were created such as a hidden door in the custom made walnut trellised library that leads to the master suite. The wainscoted walls have been carefully detailed as well as a barrel groin vaulted ceiling. The dark mahogany dining room floor was chosen to contrast the limestone floors throughout. Traditional furnishings and heavily molded walls detail the room.
A hidden closet was designed to house tall the audio and video equipment in lieu of a typical media unit in the family room. Beams of the same walnut seen in the kitchen were designed to accentuate the coffered ceiling of the family room. The kitchen was designed in a furniture cabinet concept and counters were chosen in a honed granite finish.
The tiny powder room vanity was designed with delicate silver plated legs supporting a black marble top. A silver leaf dome with indirect lighting as well as two pendants illuminates the room.
In
short, every single detail of
this residence, from design,
finishes, millwork, furnishings, etc.,
were our creation. The recognition
derived from awards won for the
interior design created a tremendous
amount of interest in this residence. Ultimately
this interest resulted in the
rapid sale of this beautiful
home.

Living Room/Dining Room
Challenged by the unusually long, narrow proportions of this space, three multi-purpose columns were created. Dividing the space to reduce the length was the original concept. Housing the stainless steel sconces, rear speakers for surround sound and additional power sources added to their value.
A
carmel and ivory palette provided a warm yet exciting space punctuated
by stainless steel and ebony accents. Custom upholstery of dual
firmness keeps everyone comfortable. Average softness on the sofa
for guests with an extra firm chaise for the owner. A pony skin
Greek influenced bench and Klismos dining chairs add an ethnic
twist all over raffia rug banded in leather anchors the living
room. A bold painting is illuminated by a pin spot for drama. The media
wall of Sapile wood camouflages speakers, all components and support
the plasma TV. A sit down bar completes the perfect entertaining environment.
Kitchen
The
Kitchen of this 2,200 sq. ft. condominium overlooking the Atlantic
Ocean is only 150 sq. ft. Since 2 gourmet chefs occupy this residence
all components were efficiently designed to be included. Cherry wood
shaker cabinets were chosen for their warmth and interesting grain. Ribbed
glass doors flank the stainless steel hood to provide lightness. Chocolate
granite divided into diamonds by 1” stainless steel convection
oven/Microwave and refrigerator all glow against the other cherry
clad appliances.
The Powder Room
This perfectly proportioned 8x8 room houses the Powder Room of this residence. Inspired by Antique Bronze and Crystal Claw & Ball Feet an open vanity was designed. “Brescia Vendome Marble” consisting of shades of violet, mustard, black and ivory tops the vanity. Custom fluted black lacquered legs were fabricated to support the marble top and black vessel sink. Bronze Faucet and all bronze plated plumbing assure attention to detail. Murano glass sconces illuminate the space. An original Carbaneau nude compliments the golden Venetian Plastered Walls.
